Rock Hall CEO Says Kiss’ Stanley “Borderline Racist”

Kiss are finally in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and for months before their induction and in the weeks since, Paul Stanley’s talked shit.

He’s ragged on the Rock Hall for taking its sweet time inducing Kiss, calling the whole process an ordeal bogged down by politics.

I guess Joel Peresman, the CEO and President of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Foundation, is getting tired of Paul’s musings, and has spoken out against Stanley’s attacks.

Stanley, he says, has been “almost borderline racist” by allegedly stating in interviews rap artists shouldn’t be inducted into the Rock Hall because they don’t play instruments.

Well, I mean…he sorta has a point, Joel.

Is it perhaps more racist that there’s no Hip-Hop Hall of Fame out there? Why can’t that be a thing?

Could the Rock Hall maybe have a separate rap wing?

Am I a racist for having had these thoughts?

Joel was asked about Paul’s acceptance speech during an interview with Radio.com.

“[Paul has] been almost borderline racist, not in that speech, but in other interviews talking about how hip-hop artists shouldn’t be inducted because they don’t play instruments. It’s like, ‘What are you, kidding?’

“And he talks about the nominating committee, and how those guys don’t buy records. Those guys buy records! They’re fucking fans! Those guys are writers and critics and musicians. Those are the people who buy records and got into the business because they love music.”

Hate to correct you, Joel, but critics and writers, I’m afraid, don’t buy albums because we’re sent records for free. So…you’re wrong.
